TechSmith Snagit 2021 – Darn it’s Good !

TechSmith’s latest Snagit release, version 2021 is, to put it mildly …… mind blowing – eye- popping , absolutely, mouthwatering marvelous! The interface is a total rebuild of this versatile tool.

I have been using Snagit since its first release waaaay back in 1990 !

For those of you be reading this blog piece Snagit is a screenshot program that captures video display and audio output.

Originally developed for Microsoft Windows operating systems, recent versions have also been available for Mac OS, but with fewer features.

Snagit is available in English, German, Korean, and Japanese versions.

Snagit replaces the native print screen function with additional features. Newer versions allow batch capture of embedded items such as links, pictures, and multimedia. The user can set parameters and keyboard shortcuts to capture particular types of data, which are stored in a folder called “Catalog” by default. The software can also follow links in web pages, capturing the specified data from the linked pages.

Accessories extend its features. For example, Flickr Output enables the user to upload screen captures to a Flickr account.

The latest release also provides a feature for creating animated GIF files, quickly and easily.

The new Camtasia 2021

The new Camtasia 2021

Camtasia is one of my favourite tools for eLearning content development. Camtasia 2021 has just been released and I am really pleased with the new updates to functionality.

These have moved Camptasia out of the realm of video editing and solidly into the realm of rapid e-learning development.

Here is a quick video we created showcasing the new features.

Animating SVG Files With an easy to use web platform – SVGator

Animating SVG Files With an easy to use web platform – SVGator

Source (

This week we are looking at SVGATOR  a platform that allows for creating Animated SVG files. This type of file is entirely scalable (because they are vectors), small and 100% code-based. This equates to a  steep learning curve for complete beginners.

This is where SVGator steps up to the mark as the creators have developed a platform making it easy for anyone to make SVG animations using a familiar interface. The platform is  web-based.  All you need to do is sign up, then   import, animate and export your SVG animations, all without touching any code !

The website provides detailed tutorials to get you started.

Happy  eLearning Designing ! !

We are always looking for ways to keep cost down for our clieHappy eLearning a practical approach to design.

Need To Edit Media ? Do It All Online For FREE

Need To Edit Media ? Do It All Online For FREE

TechSmith Camtasia is and I think will always be my screen capture tool of choice.I love the complex-simplicity of the product but sometimes I just need to create a quick tutorial or screenshot.

I found a website purely by chance and it is an impressive addition to my eLearning editing tool set.

123Apps say they are easy to use, safe, free and run in the browser.

The only downside is that there are adverts running (which is fair enough- you have to make money somehow) which are annoying. That aside from the set of nine editing tools makes this a nice little find !
